Written analysis of questionnaire results

Written analysis of questionnaire results
For my target audience research as part of my preparation for my 2 minute introduction of social realism, I gave out a questionnaire about film, social realism and social networking to 20 people who I consider to be my target audience. I gave the questionnaire out to a mix of males and females too get balanced results.
The age of my target audience was between 15 and 16 years old. This may have an effect on how my film introduction and other social realism films are interpreted.
Most of my target audience watch films once or between 2 or 4 times a week. The average result was between 2 and 4 times  a week as 9 people said they watched films this often and 7 people said they watched films once a week. This shows that my demographic may lead a busy lifestyle due to college, sixth form or work. Most of the people used cinema, TV and DVD to view films as 14 people answered cinema, 15 people answered TV and 16 people answered DVD. In addition 19 people said they watched films in the evening time. The fact that the majority of people use DVD’s to watch film and view them mainly shows they may use film to relax or unwind and for entertainment.
The majority of people’s favourite genre was comedy followed by Rom-com and action. This shows that my target audience enjoy humour and maybe light hearted entertainment.
16 people had heard of and seen a social realism, however 4 people were neither aware of the term social realism nor seen a social realism film. This shows social realism is a fairly well known genre within people of around 15 or 16 years old.
19 people were aware of and sued social networking sites. Face book and Bebo were the most popular social working sites as 11 people used face book and 6 used Bebo.  14 people accessed social networking sites everyday and only 2 people never access social networking sites. The main reason was because of boredom and to communicate with friends. This shows that social networking is a very popular thing between teenagers around 15 or 16 and that they are used often to keep up to date socially with friends. Most people used laptops and computers to access these sites, which shows that people may use them mainly at home or sometimes when out, this is also shown as 7 people said they used their Mobile phone to access social networking sites.
Only 4 people said they knew someone affected by cyber bullying which shows that cyber bullying may not be a very common thing between people in their age group, but it does occur.
10 people said that there was enough safety on social networking and 8 people said there was a lack of security on these sites. The 8 people who answered no said that privacy should be better protected and that tit should be easier to report abuse and things like this on social networking sites. 2 people said that sites such as face book were safe but others weren’t. This shows that people feel comfortable on these social networking but there could be more done to make sure people’s privacy is fully protected and that there is an easy way of dealing with abuse or aggression on the sites.
